Interview Tip 1: Always Plan Ahead : Do some homework. Research the company and the people you will meet at the interview. Review your work experience. Be ready to talk about past career accomplishments with specific information targeted toward the companies needs. Have your facts!
Interview Tip 2: Role Play : Once you have finished studying, begin role playing your interview. Think back at other interview questions that employers have asked you. Write down your answers to make your presentation more thought out. Try to keep your answer aligned to the information that your employer wants to know.
Interview Tip 3: Be Friendly : Do not spend too much time on this but if you see pictures of family on the desk or walls, feel free to ask about them. This helps break the ice and make a friendly environment.
Interview Tip 4: Eye Contact - Maintain eye contact with your interviewer throughout the meeting. Show that you want the job.
Interview Tip 5: Be Positive – Do not make negative comments about past employers. This is a mistake that is made by many candidates, and has cost great candidates the opportunity to get the job.
Interview Tip 6: Observe - Listen. Be adaptable to the style of the interviewer. Pay attention to those small details of dress, office furniture and general decor which will afford helpful clues to assist you in your presentation.
Interview Tip 7: Relate - Try to relate your answers to the interviewer and his or her company. Focus on achievements relevant to the position.
Interview Tip 8: Demonstrate your intererst - Make sure to have researched information on the company prior to the interview and ask questions that show your knowledge of the company. Talk about how your experience will assist the company in achieving its goals.
